Chasidus 2.0

By Pen Tivokeish · January 16, 2010

God was good, he was kind, he was angry, he was compassionate and he was vindictive. He was everything fathomable to his human manufacturers who haphazardly forgot one attribute.  They forgot taste.

They did give him culinary taste, they said he likes a little meat and some pastry, but is otherwise extremely selective with regards to edibles. However for some reason they did not give the snowman artistic taste.

For years he was offered the same cacophony in prayer daily. He did not distinguish between poetic beseechment, incessant plea or groveling apology. Or rather, he in fact actually preferred the monotony of incessant plea and groveling apology over poetry.

Our holy master and leader the BESHT, quite the young idealistic “Nefoshos Macher”, he pitied the snowman, the god that was lacking. As he matured, he strove to fix god, and when he was mature, he created Chasidus.

Chasidus gave god art, in quality and quantity. And to insure that what was offered before an improved god, who now required folklore, song and merrymaking,  remained varied, the BESHT created a wide range of Hasidic subcultures.

He encouraged each of his disciples to make merry according to individualistic preference.  He knew that each would dance to another tune. The BESHT knew that competitiveness would ensure that a spectrum would exist for some time to come.

Sadly, after a while though, improvement faded and God resumed his lethargic state of artistic brevity. Chasidim had begun to sing songs now outdated, without spark in lackluster mode. What was once art had become but another obligatory chore, amongst many others that one was expected to fulfil.

What is to be done? How can god be revitalized and reenergized once more?  Here is the answer. It is Chasidus 2.0

Is chasidus today anything other than a culture?

Ha ha ha!

Can’t believe you’re still at Chasidus 2.0. I long upgraded to Breslev!

A fragmented one if that.

This new version is so radically different, that the others have to be 1.XXX
